Big news dropped overnight for Brisbane 2032!
The Queensland Government has confirmed the location of the new Olympic stadium within Victoria Park, with the 63,000-seat venue set to sit in a “central position” near Gilchrist Avenue. Just as exciting, we’ve also been given our first proper look inside.

Designed for Brisbane
The newly released renders show a modern, open-air venue built with Brisbane’s climate front of mind. The design includes shaded seating, natural ventilation, and a cantilevered roof designed to keep crowds comfortable.
A few standout features:
A three-tier seating bowl with additional corporate hospitality levels
A continuous halo-style digital screen wrapping the stadium
Large end screens and open sections to maximise airflow
A field of play comparable in size to the MCG
It’s being designed for legacy too, with flexible configurations to support AFL and cricket after the Games.

Why this location matters
Placing the stadium near Gilchrist Avenue places it into existing transport corridors, with plans for pedestrian bridges over the Inner-City Bypass to handle event-day crowds and improve everyday access across the precinct.
The north-east of the park is expected to become a key entry zone, creating a clear flow for spectators during major events.

What happens next?
Early works are set to begin from June 1, once the land is transferred to the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority.
The project sits at roughly $3.6–$3.8 billion and forms a major piece of the broader $7.1 billion Olympic infrastructure program.
